The Sins We Know

Some may speak to you of Sin;
Mostly of her daughter Hate.
Very few will mention Greed,
But number more than Pride, of late.

Of Envy, none shall ever speak,
Nor mention Lust, his counterpart.
Though some of each, we all have felt
In shadowed corners of our hearts.

Sloth is old and wise and gray
Integral to the Fall of Man.
And Gluttony, that fat young rouge,
will lend a pudgy helping hand.

Be wary in the next choice you make,
Or risk losing all you bear.
You'll never see the face of Sin,
Till she is no longer there.
