The Initiative

"Man is the only animal that deals in that atrocity of atrocities, war. He is the only one that gathers his brethren about him and goes forth in cold blood and calm pulse to exterminate his kind. He is the only animal that for sordid wages will march out and help to slaughter strangers of his own species who have done him no harm and with whom he has no quarrel...and in the intervals between the campaigns he washes the blood off his hands and works for the "universal brotherhood of man" with his mouth."
-Mark Twain

Captain America yelled this at the top of his lungs at Iron Man (don't know what I'm talking about? Go read Marvel Comic's "Civil War" and then come talk to me.)

Anyway I read this and I thought, wow. You know? Maybe there are people who disagree with this and that's beautiful. Maybe there's some who agree and that's cool too. But whatever your standing, you gotta admit, it's a pretty cool quote.

I also saw 300 today. And that movie just rules all. Before that I had read Gates of Fire which is another great book about the battle at Thermopylae. It makes you wonder how much this world has "grown". And how little our morals have grown with it. I don't mean individually. If we looked at everything individually we wouldn't have enough time to fight each other. Just overall. Agree or disagree, like I said either one's fine.

My first time at this blog stuff, so I hope I come across as at least OK.
